This past week, we had the pleasure of welcoming Martins Ferry High School graduate Dareick Barr back home to speak with our middle and high school students about his journey.
Mr. Barr has more than 19 years of law federal enforcement experience with the United States Capitol Police (USCP), he has dedicated his career to protecting the United States Congress, its Members and staff, visitors, and the nation’s capital. During his first 14 years with the USCP, he served in the Capitol Division in a variety of operational roles, including VIP protection, security screening, special event operations, and emergency response. His career has included supporting five Presidential Inaugurations, 19 State of the Union Addresses, the Pope’s visit to Washington, D.C., protective details involving the Dalai Lama, the King of Jordan, numerous world leaders and former presidents, and other nationally significant events.
For the past five years, he has served in the Office of Background Investigations and Credentialing, where he has held leadership roles in both security operations and recruitment. He previously served as a Supervisory Security Specialist, coordinating background investigation operations with United States Congressional offices and other stakeholders, before being promoted to Sergeant. He currently serves as the Recruitment Programs Director, where he leads recruitment initiatives and engages with prospective federal law enforcement candidates across the country.
We would like to thank Mr. Barr for taking time to deliver such an impactful presentation to our students and staff
